We would be happy to provide suggested itineraries for visiting gardens & places of interest.
Longlands offers comfortable bed & breakfast accommodation 4 miles south of Ludlow and is a member of Farmstay UK. The house is centrally located in 35 acres of pasture land on the Herefordshire/Shropshire borders & is surrounded by lovely countryside. It is situated on the fringe of the historic village of Richards Castle and is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area, with its great scenery & picturesque market towns and villages. Ample off road parking is available.
Our bedrooms are well appointed, with long comfortable beds, hospitality trays with fresh milk, TV and all the comforts of a private home. The ground floor double-en-suite is convenient for the partially disabled or for those who just find stairs difficult. Upstairs there is a large twin room, with dual aspect which has an adjacent bath / shower room, etc; as well as a king size double bedroom complete with en-suite toilet & basin. Each room has an information folder, with safety information & ideas for places to visit whilst you are staying with us. A comfortable lounge is available for our guests to relax in. We have a comprehensive menu based on the traditional English Breakfast. Home produced preserves, fruit & vegetables are used when available. All meat products are sourced "Local to Ludlow". Two course or light evening meals may be available by prior arrangement. Different diets can be catered for.

Local attractions include Ludlow, with its lively programme of events and festivals, its famed architecture and its excellent restaurants and pubs. Nearby are the Secret Hills Discovery Centre, Stokesay castle, National Trust properties and the Black & White village trail. Ironbridge, the Severn Valley Railway & Hay-on-Wye are all within easy reach. With the Mortimer Trail only 1/2 mile away, there is plenty of walking within easy reach. Pack lunches can be supplied for hungry walkers.

From A5/A49 (S) junction Shrewsbury, take A49 south towards Leominster. Take the road (left) in to Ludlow. Keep on main through route and exit Ludlow over Ludford bridge (traffic lights). Head south for approximately 1 mile. Turn right onto B4361 to Richards Castle. At Castle pub, turn right, after 1/2 mile turn left at cross roads. We are 2/3 mile on the left over a cattle grid.
