Make sure your business is on the Shropshire Tourism website

Recent research carried out by Shropshire Tourism shows that an astounding 86% of visitors to the Shropshire Tourism website will actually visit Shropshire. At the end of last year we carried out research of our website visitors via an online survey on the main destination website. The short simple questionnaire asked visitors if they have or would visit Shropshire following their visit to our website. We also asked whether they would be a day or staying visitor and if staying what type of accommodation they stayed in.

Visit Britain Australian Press Trip

As mentioned in the September newsletter, we have been involved in arranging a Visit Britain press trip for a group of Australian journalists visiting the south of the county, as part of a trip to promote the direct services air service between Australia and Birmingham. The trip took place on 23-24th October taking in Ludlow and the surrounding areas. The journalists were most impressed with the county and the help they received.

Google begins indexing results based on mobile content

In continuation of making the mobile web friendlier, Google are now indexing search results based upon the contents of the mobile version of your website. Previously, Google had based the search result upon the desktop content of your website, meaning that what is viewed on your PC, is what Google would have taken into consideration. Some websites make use of having a stripped down version of their website available for mobile, which means that the desktop-based content shown in search results, may not necessarily be respective of the mobile content that is available. This is where Google have sought to ensure that the correct experience is delivered for the user, creating a better user experience.
