Website Case Study

It’s important that a website is up to date for a number of reasons. It sounds obvious but the website must contain what visitors want to know; missing or dated information is off putting. The structure of the website should also make it easy for visitors to navigate around the site or they could leave.

Scans of non digital images or older digital images can also look grainy, faded, washed out or dark. Fresh, sharp, large high quality images make the website (and thus the business) appear more up to date.  The way Search Engine Optimisation and Google works has also changed significantly over the years so something that may have worked a few years ago may be far less effective now.

If your website does not effectively represent your business and show your business off to its full potential, you run the risk of customers passing you buy and choosing a competitor who has a better online presence. Read on to find out how Bon Accueil, a self catering property in Whitchurch, revamped their website.

Bon Accueil Case Study

Bon Acceuil is a self catering property in Whitchurch owned by Gillian Dunne. The website www.bonaccueil.co.uk had been operating for a few years and had naturally started to look outdated. Gillian approached Shropshire Tourism to give it a modern facelift to ensure that it reflected Bon Accueil’s five star grading. She also wanted to add a Content Management System to the website so that she could manage the content herself including the menu structure, pages, gallery images and new availability system. The website also has interactive features such as a virtual tour and interactive floor plan. Bon Accueil also plans to undertake Pay Per Click and add an E-newsletter facility to proactively attract bookings for 2011/2012.

Gillian Dunne from Bon Accueil said, “Shropshire Tourism designed our first website a few years ago and we have always been delighted with it.  When we felt it was time to develop a new, up-to-date, interactive website we did not hesitate to ask Shropshire Tourism again.  The new site speaks for itself.   It is modern, sharp and more importantly, successful – having received positive feedback.  What I particularly like is that I have control of the pages and can edit it whenever I like.  The expertise, help and training given by Shropshire Tourism was always carried out in a professional but very friendly way and should I have any questions they were always there to assist.  Many thanks.”
