The Old Rectory of St James Guest House has won the Bronze Award in the Bed & Breakfast/Guest Accommodation of the Year category of the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2015.

The awards were announced at a glittering ceremony held on Monday, 11th May at Sage Centre in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.

VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2015 celebrate the best of English tourism. They promote healthy industry competition and high standards, helping to ensure England's place as a world-class destination. This year, they attracted 345 applications.

Speaking on behalf of The Old Rectory of St James Guest House, owners Rosemary and Adrian said: "We are delighted and very proud to have received the Bronze Award. We feel our hard work over the last 4 years has paid off, but it would not have been possible without our guests taking time to write such wonderful reviews, our local suppliers providing the best of Shropshire and all the local businesses who contribute to the tourism industry in one way or another. This puts us in the top three Guest Houses in England and helps to put Shropshire firmly on the map."
