Eligible businesses and charitable organisations in Shropshire can now apply for a Connection Voucher worth up to £3,000 towards the cost of upgrading to superfast broadband. Connection Vouchers will be made available on a first-come first-served basis until 31 March 2016.

For any business that would like to find out more about the Connection Voucher Scheme, further information can be found at http://connectingshropshire.co.uk/connection-voucher-scheme/

How the scheme works and what costs can be covered

54 exchange areas are now ‘accepting orders’ throughout Shropshire with one or more cabinets providing fibre broadband across the county.

Women and Broadband Project continues

Women in Rural Enterprise are continually getting support - £156.1 million to be exact, to help women take advantage of superfast broadband and its benefits to their businesses.

Caroline Dineage, Minister for Women, Equalities and Family Justice, said:

“The Government is doing more than ever before to ensure that women have equality in the workplace. I am delighted to hear that the Shropshire, Staffordshire and Telford & Wrekin areas have been awarded funding, so more female entrepreneurs can take advantage of superfast broadband.
