Shropshire Tourism Directors Update

At the AGM on 7th February, we said goodbye to a long standing director and Chairman, but also welcomed a new Director to the board along with a new Chairman.

After being involved with the Shropshire Tourism board for many years, and fulfilling the role of Chairman for the last 3 years, Deborah Clough stood down in November. We would like to thank Deborah for her support and direction over the years, and wish her all the very best in the future.

Richard Powell was elected by the board to take over the role of Chairman for the upcoming year. Richard owns Park Hall Countryside Experience in Oswestry, and is currently Chairman of Oswestry Borderland Tourism, and Vice Chair of the National Farm Attractions Group.

Kevin Dowd, owner of Hambrook House Guest House in Shrewsbury was elected by as a new director to our board. Kevin and his wife Charlotte have been running Hambrook House since 2011 having moved from Buckinghamshire. Kevin is also a Chartered Surveyor, and brings a wealth of knowledge to the commercial aspects of tourism, such as retail, catering, office and retail valuation and retailing trends.
