Update on Visit England Quality Schemes' licence

The Visit England accommodation assessment schemes have been successfully run under licence since 2012. The existing licence ended in March 2017 giving VE the opportunity to review how they operate and grow the schemes. Following a rigorous tender and evaluation process, Visit England has appointed the AA as licence-holder to run all National Quality Assessment Schemes, subject to contract. Of course Shropshire Tourism also run their own full assessment scheme, locally delivered by our own trained assessors but to the same national standards and in most cases at a lower cost too. The AA has been inspecting and rating hotels and guest accommodation in the UK for over 100 years and follows the same common standards used by Visit England and the national tourist boards for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Quality in Tourism continue to operate the schemes until the new licence came into effect on 1st April 2017.
