National Press Coverage for Shropshire

National Press Coverage for Shropshire

Shropshire Tourism's press and pr team have been hard at work.

Shropshire Tourism’s press and PR team have been hard at work – no sooner have those Hairy Bikers shown what great food we have, then the BBC Countryfile Team paid us even more complements in the November edition of BBC Countryfile Magazine. If you haven’t yet seen a copy then it’s worth grabbing a copy quick.

There is fantastic coverage on Shropshire under the heading ‘Discover how beautiful Shropshire transformed the entire World’ was generated as a result of a press trip that Shropshire Tourism hosted in August of this year as part of the destination press and PR work that we undertake.

This press coverage has an advertising equivalent value of £16,800 and a publicity value of £50,400, something we just would not be able to achieve in pure advertising or without the established relationships we have with our journalist contacts.

In addition, another article in the Mail on Sunday on 1st November was generated as a result of another press visit which Shropshire Tourism coordinated, arranged and hosted for the Darwin PR and Marketing contract.  Shrewsbury featured in the travel section entitled ‘Six Things You Must Do in Tudor Shrewsbury’ highlights the town’s connections with its famous son Charles Darwin and describes the town as ‘one of the most attractive day trip and short break destinations’. The advertising equivalent value of this article is £27,900 and a publicity value of £83,700.
