How to Feature on New Websites
New Opportunities for Shropshire Tourism Members - Walking, Cycling, Riding Websites
As many members will know, a trio of new websites for Walking, Cycling and Riding in Shropshire have recently been designed. The websites have been commissioned by Shropshire County Council and designed and hosted by Shropshire Tourism.
All three websites have been designed to be very similar in terms of the branding and style.
The sites aim to be the definitive one-stop shop for the discerning visitor to Shropshire who is looking to enjoy walks, horse riding or cycling.
The websites have an on-going marketing and promotional campaign aimed towards their respective target markets.

How to Feature on the Walking & Cycling websites (Accommodation)
All accommodation featured on these websites have to be independently inspected and graded under the Visit Britain/Visit Wales Schemes. Apart from your regular accommodation inspection, businesses must also have the 'Walkers Welcome', 'Cyclists Welcome' accreditation.
These additional inspections need to be undertaken at the same time as your annual inspection at an additional £17 per inspection or £26.50 for both 'Cyclists Welcome' and 'Walkers Welcome'.
Once businesses hold the 'Walkers Welcome' and/or 'Cyclists Welcome' awards, your accommodation business can be featured on the Shropshire Walking and/or the Shropshire Cycling website FREE OF CHARGE.

How to Feature on the Riding website (Accommodation)
The Riding in Shropshire website will shortly be updated to reflect the new Horses Welcome accreditation undertaken by the British Horse Society. This scheme also provides you with affordable insurance as part of the accreditation.
Shropshire has a countywide policy of only promoting inspected properties on its ‘official’ tourism marketing and local authority websites. These are accommodation providers that are inspected by a recognised national inspection body such as Visit Britain or the AA which ensures that as a county we offer our visitors a high standard of quality accommodation.
The Horses Welcome scheme ensures that visitors to the Riding in Shropshire website will be able to select accommodation that not only meets their needs, but also those of their horses. Principally the requirements are good quality overnight stabling.
If you are an accommodation provider that holds a current inspection for your property and you would like to feature on the Riding in Shropshire website in the future, you will also need to also hold a Horses Welcome accreditation.

How to feature (Non Accommodation Businesses)
Unfortunately non accommodation businesses will not be featured on the website in listing form. Some of the routes on the cycling website have interactive mapping, which will feature some key attractions if they are on the route.
Businesses related to the Walking, Cycling or Riding Industry
Businesses that are related to the Walking, Riding and Cycling industries, can be featured on the website free of charge. Simply email your details through by clicking here and let us know which website you would like to feature on.
HOW TO FEATURE ON THE SHROPSHIRE GARDENS & NURSERIES WEBSITE
The Shropshire Gardens & Nurseries website is a brand new website that has been designed to give a greater internet presence to Gardens and Nurseries throughout Shropshire than is currently available on the Shropshire Tourism website.
The site has been branded to compliment the existing design of the Shropshire Tourism site, which we know works well within our target market.
Advertising on the site is open to both Shropshire Tourism members and non-members, although members get a significant discount.
